The Rio Centro de Voo Livre has more than 140 pilots approved by the CBVL (Brazilian Free Flight Confederation) and FAI (International Aeronautical Federation) to carry out Hang Gliding and Paragliding flights.
Our equipment is approved by international institutions and inspected by accredited technicians periodically every six months or every 250 flights.
These criteria make our club a world reference in terms of safety for the practice of free flying.

An agreement between CSCVL, CBVL, ICM-Bio and the authorities of the Tijuca National Park regulates the functioning of the place, ensuring that regular maintenance is carried out and also the protection of the environment. Some factors make São Conrado one of the best places in the world to fly:
If you are interested, after completing your first flight, you can continue your training in a free flying course with your instructor, or if you prefer you can visit the CSCVL or CBVL website and choose the flight school closest to you.
With a wonderful landscape, you will have spectacular views from several points of Rio de Janeiro, such as Pão de Açucar, Dois Irmãos Hill, Pedra da Gávea, Tijuca Forest and the south zone of Rio de Janeiro.
The transfer from Pepino beach to the take-off ramp at Pedra Bonita takes approximately 10 minutes to climb the beautiful Canoas road, through the Tijuca forest. The take-off place is very safe and offers a structure for restrooms and a food kiosk.
Our takeoff ramp is the oldest in Brazil and receives thousands of visitors every year. Located at an altitude of 517 meters, it is an integral part of a large area of environmental preservation within the Tijuca National Park.

After receiving the first orientation at the reception and choosing one of the modalities, an instructor will be assigned to accompany you to the Rio Centro de Voo Livre headquarters. There you and your instructor will record your data for your first flying lesson.
After paying the registration fee and the mandatory insurance, you and your instructor will drive up to the Pedra Bonita ramp. Once there, you will have time to take some pictures, enjoy the scenery and get acquainted with the other visitors, while the instructor organizes all the equipment for the flight.
In just a few minutes, your instructor will equip you and give you precise instructions while performing takeoff training. In this simulation he will demonstrate the necessary movements to take off, the position during the flight, the passing of command and the preparation for landing. It is important to pay attention to this training as it is essential for a perfect takeoff.
Now, trained as a team, you and your instructor are ready to fly. Then, our ramp inspector, after carefully checking the entire set, student, instructor and equipment, will authorize the takeoff.
After completing your flight, you will be invited to answer a brief opinion survey about the quality of the service offered and you will receive a certificate for your flight in Rio de Janeiro.
